Chief BOW and ARROWS Artifact with Dreamcatcher 7807 Sioux Indian Chief Bow and Arrows Artifact with Dreamcatcher. This beautiful soft leather BUCKSKIN wrapped bow measures 51” – it is decorated with genuine Feathers. The bone tipped arrows have feathers and tips that were attached to the shaft with artificial sinew. Genuine leather fringes connect beads, antler pieces and large feathers to both ends of the bow. And the center of the cross arrows is dressed with a hand made dreamcatcher. A magnificent show piece for your collectible wall. It was made just down the street from our trading post by some good friends of Richard's. Some of the artists can be seen in the photos. Some bows and arrows displayed are intended for wall decoration – others are functional. Due to the hand made nature of these artifacts, some slight variations may exist from piece to piece. This fantastic Indian Artifact comes in either white, yellow, tan, or chocolate brown leather. Let us know which color you prefer in the comment box as you check out. Indian warriors gained status not only from their success in battle, but their skills in crafting hunting tools and weapons. Typically Bow woods used are Ash, Black Locust, Black Cherry, Osage Orange, White Oak and Hickory. Arrows were made mostly from dogwood, yaupon holly, witch hazel and willow because they could be smoothed and straighten easily. Arrow points made of noviculite and obsidian were chipped with a moose and deer antler. Ceremonial rituals focused on power, strength, healing, wisdom and intuition in life's journey and use artifacts such as this bow in to connect the warrior to his spirit guides.
